A first-place finish by Ryan Ault led Hauser’s varsity boys cross country team to a second straight conference title at the Mid-Hoosier Conference Meet on Saturday.
Ault covered the course at Blue River Memorial Park in 17.45.84. Alex Bower (20:00.62) was 9th, followed closely by Colin Kistler (20:06.24) in 10th, Tanner Ault (20:16.37) in 11th, and Cameron Toole (20:17.51) in 12th. Austin Cowan finished in 33rd place, with a time of 23:25.63.
Ault, Bower, and Kistler earned places on the MHC Boys All-Conference Team.
Amanda Steward was the Jets’ top girl finisher, placing 11th with a time of 25:11.46. Reiss Kistler (26:50.02) took 19th place, Tammy Essex (27:22.01) finished 23rd, Addison Jones (27:29.87) was 26th, and Kaitlynn Everroad (28:20.84) came in 27th. Hauser’s girls finished 5th in team placement.
In the middle school races, Hauser’s boys team was led to their fourth consecutive MHC title by a first-place finish from Taeshaun Tungate. Also placing in the top 20 for the Jets were Kase Meister (3rd), Collin Buck (7th), Collin Ault (8th), Ledger Gelfius (9th), Nolan Dailey (10th), and Garrett Hoover (17th). Madison Hollman led Hauser’s girls with a 7th place finish, while Kaidenze Shoaf took 20th, helping the team to a 4th place finish.
The Jets host the annual Heritage Days Cross Country Classic this coming Saturday.
