The boys’ soccer team traveled to Southwestern for the inaugural MHC Tournament Championship after beating Morristown earlier in the week. Southwestern scored off a penalty kick in the second half after a Hauser handball was called. Southwestern kept that lead until Kolton Grimes buried a free kick from 35 yards out to switch the momentum back to the Jets. Regulation ended at a 1-1 tie. After two seven-minute overtimes the score remained 1-1. The drama continued through penalty kicks and ended 3-3 after the first set of five kicks per team. Round two continue to build the drama as sudden death penalty kicks were taking place. Landon Pendleton and Camden Grimes both found the back of the net. The save of the match was after a Jet miss, Camden Grimes full body dive with a punch of the ball kept the Jets MHC hopes alive. Corbin Holzer, Vumund Wahl, and Austin Sanders converted, and all were answered by makes from Southwestern to end 10 players worth of penalty kicks. Both teams could reset on player who could shoot. Camden Grimes and Kolton Grimes both converted to set up the save by Camden to end the drama with the Jets winning the shootout 10-9.
